how to change installation path for BGEE?

I need to change the BGEE installation path using Windows 8.1, as I'm having mod installation problems such that the OS won't let the mod alter files within C:\Program Files (x86)\BeamDog\Games. I'm told that for Windows 8.1 the preferred folder location for all games is C:\Users\\\ which allows modification of all the game's files.

So I backed up my BGEE folders elsewhere, uninstalled BGEE, and now want to reinstall according to a new path. But when I download from Beamdog it automatically downloads to C:\Program Files (x86)\BeamDog\Games.

How do I choose the installation path? I'm recalling that there is a way to install without using the Beamdog Client. Do I use the BGEEINstaller.exe? found here?
