Question: BGEE updates and dialog.tlk

So I was mucking about putting scimitars on all the Ogre Mages instead of bastard swords and I slapped together a pretty basic magic one for Kahrk (+1, pink, 5% chance for 15 lightning damage). I'd like to keep the description and name I've written. My understanding is that any modifications to dialog.tlk will be overwritten when Overhaul updates the game. Is there any way to avoid this or to easily and quickly re-enter the changes? And yes, I suppose I could simply refrain from updating the game, but I'd rather be able to update the game.
