Is there a way/mod to stop freezing destroying everything

I was wondering if there is a way or mod that stops freezing from destroying all items on an enemy? I find myself resisting the use of cold spells (and wand of frost) because you can lose all possessions on an enemy.

There is also the quest breaking aspect of freeze, where freeze kills don't count as kills for certain quests.
