Ascension v1.5 BETA - Enhanced Edition Release UPDATED 6/8/2016 - SCS Fix located on Page 2!

Been way to long since I've updated this mod. That is all.

All of JediMindTrix's work is dedicated to Charles Hein, beloved cousin and best friend, and Michael Taylor, close friend.

ABOUT THIS BETA
I want to stress that this is a BETA, not a final release. Just because everything installs without an error does not mean everything is working as intended. This is where the community comes in: I do not have time for a lot of beta-testing (long workweeks!) myself, so I am counting on everyone to report everything they find from simple typo's or grammatical errors in dialogue to enormous Fallout-Sized termite infestations (hopefully I sprayed all of these!)

- EDIT: Forgot to note that Restored Bhaalspawn Powers should now check to see if the version included in PPG's Unfinished Business is installed already (I believe they are functionally identical, even if written separately.)

PACKAGE

- Fixed gamebreaking bug where bridges to the pools were not spawning in endgame. This was accomplished through a restructuring and rewriting of code. UNTESTED with BODHI. -JediMindTrix

- The final Ascension battle requires thorough testing. The Bridge Bug fix is untested with Bodhi fighting by the Bhaalspawn's side.
- Ascension NPC epilogue's require testing.

Version 2 of Tweaks Anthology Now Available

The Tweaks Anthology is a WeiDU compilation of fixes, cosmetic changes, and tweaks that will run on every Infinity Engine game, from the original Planescape:Torment, through the Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate series, and the new Enhanced Editions of the games. The successor to BG2 Tweaks and several other tweak packs, some of these were fan requests, others are needed fixes, and others simply make dealing with the more irritating aspects of the game engine easier. Each component can be installed separately so the player can pick and choose only which ones they wish to install. Version 2 adds seven new components and a couple of new options for existing components as well as some fixes, most notable being better PSTEE detection. v2 changelog:
  • Added several new components: Separate Resist Fire/Cold Portrait Icon into Separate Icons, Adjust Cromwell's Forging Time, Level-Locked Spell Scrolls, Allow Mages to Use Bucklers and Thieves to Use Small Shields, Lightning Bolts Don't Bounce, Give Every Class/Kit Four Weapon Slots, and Don't Auto-Assign Advanced AI Scripting to Party
  • Tweaks Anthology will no longer install on games that require Modmerge and instead point users to Modmerge and how to install it
  • The mod will better detect PsTEE games and offer components appropriately. This better detection also addresses some other bugs, such as the Rest Anywhere component not working on PsTEE.
  • The Exotic Item Pack was rewritten to address some minor bugs and streamline the code; the Katana +2 had its effect percentages corrected
  • Wear Multiple Protection Items has a new option, Allow Armor Plus One Protection Item
  • Loosen Item Restrictions for Multi- and Dual-class Druids is now Change Item Restrictions for Multi- and Dual-class Druids, as you now have options to loosen or tighten these restrictions.
  • Allow Cromwell to Upgrade Watcher's Keep Items was streamlined a bit, mainly to make the new Cromwell component easier to write
  • All Alter Weapon Proficiency System options save Rebalanced Profiencies could potentially rob joinable NPCs of overall pips since various proficiencies could get combined. These "duplicate proficiency" points are now re-assigned so that joinable NPCs retain their correct total of weapon pips.
  • Maximum HP Creatures was not properly accounting for dual-class characters, potentially shorting their maximum HPs

Forbidden folders for you game installation, don't install you games here:
C:\<anything>... | C:\Program Files\... | C:\Program Files (x86)\... | C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\...
Allowed folders for you game installation:
C:\Users\<YouUserName>\Games | D:\Games | Other non-OSdrive locations
Warning for non-EE games (BG2/BGT/IWD/IWD2/PST, skip for Enhanced Edition): If you just moved you game folders, use this tool: IEGL to fix paths inside *.ini

Prerequisites:
- reinstall you games/prepare clean version of the games
- apply lastest patches ( Classic BG1/BG2 from GoG has already lastes patch )
- run each game at least once (especially after you moved non-EE games directory) and create a save game
- quit Steam/GoG launchers, exit games, close game/file editors
- create backups of each game
- disable you antivirus
- disable User Account Control: Windows 7 / Windows 8 / Windows 10

0. Download Big World Setup zip archive and extract it anywhere but not inside game directory:

1. Execute "Start BiG World Setup - Update If Needed.vbs"

2. Select GUI Language. It has nothing to do with game/mods language!

3. Choose you game:

4. Provide paths for you game:

5. Select default language for all mods:

6. Choose compilation: for the first usage of the tool use "Recommended" compilation:

7. Read "Installation F.A.Q." and then you can choose mods and components:
Don't install any of the mod/component without reading mod README!

[i] - button will open mod homepage/forum
Gray - forced mod, can't be un-selected
Green - recommended mod, based on the community
Blue - stable mod, it should install without errors/bugs
Orange - tactical mod, it increase difficulty or adds difficult fights
Red - expert mod, it can cause problems/it can overwrite files, read description
Yellow background - mod with warring, please read description
Gray background - mod must be downloaded manually to BiG World Downloads folder

8. If the mods have conflicts, you will have to solve them:
a) some mods needs another mods/componets

b) some mods cannot be installed together, choose one of them
image

9. Test download of the mods. Test locally present mods:
Download missing mods (don't extract) which require manual download and put them into to BiG World Downloads.

10. Start installation.

Remarks - please read!

Before you start to complain, you must acknowledge that due to nature of Baldur’s Gate mods,
community and rules especially about providing working hosting for mods and fixing mod bugs,
Big Word Setup itself is not capable to fix/improve some aspects of automated mod installation.
Despite our best efforts, you will face some minor problems.
It often depends of how many mods you trying to install.
Big World Setup is an overlay for Big World Project which itself is an overlay for mods.
Overlay for overlay for another overlay.

- BWS cannot fix mod bugs: there is Big World Fixpack, all mod fixes should be added to it
- BWS cannot change installation order: BWS use Big World Project from Leonardo Watson
- BWS cannot host mods: there will be always mods which fails to download, please ask author to provide proper link

You cannot distribute you mod via forum attachments. If you don't have you own hosting site, the best option is to use GitHub.com or please provide download links which:
- do not require chapta after several downloads (http://prntscr.com/6pk42t)
- do not advertise some adware/crapware/downloader etc
- do not expire after 30 or more days without download (every popular hosting site like speeedyshare, mediafire has such terms)
- do not require user interaction to be downloaded ( mediafire.com,googledrive.com has JavaScript download link generator that require user click)
- do not depend on the filename (dropbox.com/s/q72jpl132fj53lv/ModName-v1.zip?dl=1)
- do not depend on the file version if you enable SEO: mods.sitename.com/modnamev7 -> mods.sitename.com/modnamev7_1/
- it will not change when uploading/updated the same file
- it can be used by wget to check file size: wget.exe url --spider --no-check-certificate

New beta of The Divine Remix now available

The Divine Remix aims to rebalance and change several aspects of divine-magic-using classes, such as clerics, paladins, druids, and rangers. Version 8, a beta release, is a major overhaul and restructuring of the mod. Notably, the sphere system has been moved into a stand-alone component, the code has been modernized to interact better with other mods, and the mod has been updated to work on the EE series of games.

If you read nothing else, read this: this is a beta release, and the sphere system is now optional. The v8 changelog:
  • Major, major rewrite
  • Sphere system broken out and made optional
  • Non-sphere versions of cleric kits created
  • IWDEE/BGEE/BGIIEE compatibility
  • Typos
  • Due to extensive text changes, the Polish and Czech translations have been withdrawn until they can be updated
  • Kitting creatures now accounts for priests in the BG part of the game; better checks also means no more install failures during the kitting process
  • Imported IWD spells have been withdrawn; go install IWDification instead
  • New spells broken into their own component, and given the option to install with or without overwriting similar spells from other mods
  • Kit remover cleaned up
  • Implemented better checks for high level abilities and holy symbols, mainly to better account for the variety of platforms now available
  • Fixed the kit.ids patching
  • Kitted clerics in IWDEE will have a kit-specific biography
  • Kitted clerics in EE games now have the default colors of their faith
  • Battleguards of Tempus will receive additional attacks for weapon specialization per warrior classes, but only on EE games

[Mod] Imoen gets turned to stone at the Promenade

The whole mod content is a huge *** Spoiler *** for BGII game story so you are warned.

I feel under a lot of time pressure every time after the incident with Irenicus, Imoen, and the Cowled Wizards at the Promenade. This mod lets Imoen be turned to stone in that fight. The idea is to give the PC more ease of mind to do all the quests in Chapter 2, knowing that Imoen doesn't suffer - and can be turned back to live like Branwen was in BG1 once the PC reaches Spellhold.

The mod lets Imoen be turned to stone in the fight with Irenicus at the Promenade. She will still be taken by the Cowled Wizards, and Irenicus will have depetrified her and do his soul-experiments until the PC reaches Spellhold so the overall game flow is not altered. But overall it all happens a bit later than in the original, and (at least for me) it's a bit less disturbing.

This mod is meant to be a very small mod, which is also one of the reasons why the overall game story is not altered.

The mod tries to use as many originally voiced lines as possible, but some had to be taken out because they didn't make any sense without Imoen reacting. Also, some lines were added to stress the reasons why Imoen will be taken to Spellhold although she is turned to stone.

The mod is compatible with Alamateria's Restauration Project "Extended Waukeen's Promenade Cutscene", Tweaks Anthology "Faster Chapter 1&2 Cut-Scenes & Dreams", Alternatives, and Saeileth mod. It has to be installed after Tweak Anthology.

UNDEAD RAVAGER:

The undead ravager is a barbarian appointed by the shamans of PRO_HESHE's tribe to watch the sacred graves of his people. In rare occasions, however, PRO_HESHE may be designated by the elders to some journey - usually to face some evil non-living force that is foreseen to menace the tribe.

Advantages:

- May achieve Grandmastery in Two-Handed Swords, Halberds, and Axes.
- +5 bonus to hit, damage and Speed Factor against undeads.
- Moves 2 points faster than other characters.
- Immune to backstab.
- Immune to disease.
- Barbarian Rage.
- Hit Die: d12.

BARBARIAN RAGE:

The enraged status lasts for 5 rounds and provides a +4 bonus to Strenght and Constitution, a -2 penalty to Armor Class, and a +2 bonus to Saving Throws vs. Spell, as well as immunity to all charm, hold, fear, maze, stun, sleep, confusion, and level drain spells.

Disadvantages:

- Cannot put any slot in Sword and Shield style.
- Can only become proficient in ranged weapons.
- Cannot be Chaotic Evil.
- Cannot wear metal armor.
- Cannot use shields.
- Cannot Dual Class.

Introducing the Ishlilka mod for BG!

--If you have a previous version of this mod, you must uninstall it before installing this latest version.--





Ishlilka is a newly trained Wizard Slayer that has come to this part of the Sword Coast to prove herself worthy to her father and his band of reputable mercenaries. Noble at heart, and up alone against a strange foe, she willingly takes up your cause in exchange for aid in her own.


What you can expect:

At least two banters with every companion in BG1.

A friendship and romance path.

A unique quest for BG1 and SOD.

Various interjections at different points in the game.

A balanced front liner with a unique ranged weapon.

Some tips:

Should be fully compatible with other BG1/SOD mods.

This is the Full Version, it should be functional but there still remain the minor possibility of bugs. Please inform me if so.

This mod was made for BG:EE with SOD installed. I don't know what will happen if you add it to a vanilla BG:EE install. You may just get an "installed with warnings" and it will be fine. You may open up a portal to the Hells. I can not be held responsible for such reckless acts. (I will post a standalone BG:EE version in the comments sooneventuallyish)

She can be found at the grounds of the Friendly Arm Inn.

Romance is available to Half Orcs, Humans, and Half Elves, although Half Elves will have special difficulties.

Ishlilka will follow you into SOD only if she was with you for the final battle with Sarevok and you export your game.

If you failed to complete her quest in BG1 but brought her into SOD, you need to talk to her if you want to start her next quest.

The plot will get thicker and the quests will get juicier in BG2/TOB ;)

1) Install into game directory.

2) Take the ishlilkamod-setup.exe and ishlilkamod-setup.tp2 out of the mod folder and into game directory.

"voluntarily left" the community for good, I felt that it's probably suitable that I, the creator for the 'baseline' of this kit, continue to maintain a thread in case of any issues or new developments since they will obviously be unable to. I'm not sure if this is quite the appropriate thing to do in this situation, but screw it, the moderators will know what to do otherwise.

Kit Description

PALE MASTER: Necromancy is usually a poor choice for arcane spellcasters -- those who really want to master the deathless arts almost always pursue divine means. However, an alternative exists for those who desire power over undead but refuse to give up their arcane craft completely. Enter the pale master, who draws on a font of special lore that provides a macabre power all its own.

Advantages:
- 1st level: Gains Boneskin.

BONESKIN: The pale master's tough, cadaverous flesh gives them a +1 to AC (+2 at 7th, +3 at 13th).

- 2nd level: May use Animate Dead once per day.

ANIMATE DEAD: As per the mage and cleric spell, summons an allied skeleton warrior to serve the caster.

- 3rd level: Gains Deathless Vigor.

DEATHLESS VIGOR: The pale master’s body becomes more akin to the undying flesh of his undead associates. Gains infravision, immunity to sleep and +1 to saves vs. death (+2 at 8th, +3 at 13th).

- 6th level: The pale master gives in to terrible necrophiliac urges. He cuts off his arm and replaces it with an undead prosthetic, which may be skeletal in form or preserved flesh stitched in place like that of a flesh golem. May use Undead Graft twice per day.

UNDEAD GRAFT: The pale master touches a target with a ghoulish hand. Target must save vs. death or be held for 5 rounds.

- 10th level: Undead Graft saving throw at -1.
- 12th level: Gains Tough as Bone.

TOUGH AS BONE: The pale master becomes more and more like one of the implacable undead. Immunity to hold, stun and poison.

- 14th level: Undead Graft saving throw at -2.
- 15th level: May use Create Skeleton Abomination once per day.

CREATE SKELETON ABOMINATION: Summons a powerful skeleton abomination to serve the caster for 2 hours.

- 16th level: The pale master's touch becomes deadly and can instantly kill a target. May use Deathless Master's Touch twice per day.

DEATHLESS MASTER'S TOUCH: The pale master touches a target with a life-snuffing hand. Target must save vs. death with a -3 penalty or die instantly.

- 18th level: Undead Graft saving throw at -3.
- 20th level: Gains Deathless Mastery.

DEATHLESS MASTERY: The pale masters are practically undead creatures themselves. Immunity to death magic and level drain.

- Hit Die: d6

Disadvantages:
- May cast one fewer spell of each level per day.
- Alignment restricted to non-good.
- Incurs a -2 penalty to Charisma.

Custom Biography

"Despite your foster father's many attempts to dissuade you, necromancy has always been your foremost fascination. Over the years, you have learned to focus the raw magic within you in ways that confound even the most sagacious priests of Oghma. The dead, you have often claimed, make for better company than the living, and when they speak to you now, they promise even greater power beyond the walls of Candlekeep.

You know little of how you came to be a ward of Gorion's, but over the years you have gleaned something of your mother's tale from his vague allusions and from the words he sometimes uttered in tear-filled sleep. She was a human from Silverymoon and a friend of his for many seasons. As you have no memory of her, nor any keepsakes to remind you of her existence, you have come to believe that she died while giving birth to you. Perhaps it was the pain of such a parting that led Gorion to cloister himself within the narrow halls of Candlekeep and raise you as his own. Of your father, you have learned nothing."

Abilities

ANIMATE DEAD

This spell causes a skeleton warrior to rise and serve the caster under any conditions. The type of skeleton warrior that appears depends upon the level of the wizard casting the spell.
1st - 6th: a 3 HD skeleton warrior wielding a long sword.
7th - 10th: a 5 HD skeleton warrior wielding a long sword +1.
11th - 14th: a 7 HD skeleton warrior wielding a bastard sword +1.
15th and up: a 9 HD skeleton warrior wielding a two-handed sword +1.
The skeleton warrior can follow the caster, remain in an area and attack any creature entering the place, etc. It remains animated until it is destroyed in combat, 8 hours pass, or it is turned.

UNDEAD GRAFT

When this spell is cast, the Pale Master touches the target with his undead prosthesis. The target must save vs. death or be held for 5 rounds. Saving throws decrease by -1 every four levels until -3 at level 18.

CREATE SKELETON ABOMINATION

This spell causes a powerful skeleton abomination to rise and serve the caster under any conditions. The skeleton abomination strikes as a +3 magical weapon. The skeleton abomination can follow the caster, remain in an area and attack any creature entering the place, etc. It remains animated until it is destroyed in combat, 2 hours pass, or it is turned. This spell cannot be dispelled.

DEATHLESS MASTER'S TOUCH

When this spell is cast, the Pale Master touches the target with his undead prosthesis. The target must save. vs. death with a -3 penalty or die instantly.

Extra: Ring of Wizardry Change

The Ring of Wizardry is extremely buggy when used together with mages that have modified spell slots. To work around it, this optional component modifies the ring to provide four bonus level 1 spells instead of doubling the base amount.

Overview

A rather crude, cynical and sarcastic cleric of Tyr who serves the Order of the Radiant Heart in Amn, sent to investigate the iron crisis. You'll find him drinking in Beregost and seeking adventurers for the task of eliminating the mad priest Bassilus. He's a man of many vices and often blasphemous, but is regardless devoted to justice and a strong hatred of all things evil.

He can be befriended by a non-evil PC and can be flirted with by a PC of either gender.

Drake's portrait was made by LavaDelVortel and edited with his permission.

Biography

"When asked about his past, DRAKE gives a sardonic laugh and responds that history would breathe easier if his past was left forgotten. A cleric of Tyr in his mid-thirties, second son of the Caulfield family, former ensign in the Amnian militia and, with a touch of irony when mentioning it, recruit of the Radiant Heart auxiliary, he considers himself 'that thing they can't get rid of' within the Order. He openly admits that his unorthodox views on the tenets of the Order as well as the distribution of justice makes him something of a social pariah with both his fellows of the Radiant Heart and his family, almost all of whom have a history of service within the Order. According to him, while him being stationed outside of Amn was officially a mission to root out evil that plagued the Sword Coast, he believes it was nothing more than a formal means of sending him away and allowing his superiors to forget about him. Such an assignment seems to be to his preference, however, as he believes justice is best served with the edge of a blade - or in his case, the head of a hammer."

Such powers originate from the realm of the Shadow Weave, the distorted mockery of Mystra's Weave created by Shar, the Nightsinger. So obscure is this power that most are unaware of its existence, and those that know of it refuse to acknowledge it due to its dark origins. However, the seductive whispers of this power has called to you, an apprentice mage who had barely mastered your first cantrip, since a young age, deep beneath the great library.

This is a mage kit with a completely unique spell selection with 100+ new spells to choose from. A lot of them are copies of existing spells but there are quite a few relatively unique ones in there.

SHADOW ADEPT: Shadow adepts hurl themselves into the abyss of the Shadow Weave, immediately acquiring all the gifts available to casual students and discovering secrets unavailable to all but the most dedicated. Advantages: - Hit Die: d6 - May use Shadow Magic. SHADOW MAGIC: Spells of the Shadow Weave are usually more powerful than regular magic, but drains the caster's life force. When a spell is cast, the shadow adept must make a save vs. death at +5 minus spell level (e.g. +4 for level 1, -4 for level 9) or temporarily lose Constitution equal to the level of the spell cast for 3 rounds. If the shadow adept's Constitution reaches zero, <PRO_HESHE> is killed instantly. The Shadow Weave is a mysterious and alien entity, far darker and harder to control than that of Mystra's equivalent. As such, a great amount of mental acuity is required in order to master shadow magic. High intelligence, wisdom and charisma benefits those who choose to stray into Shar's domain. - Gains the Darkvision innate ability. DARKVISION: The shadow adept is gifted with the ability to see in the dark even better than in light. <PRO_HESHE> permanently gains infravision and immunity to blindness. - Gains one bonus spell cast per level. - +2 bonus to saving throws against spells of the Enchantment, Illusion and Necromancy schools. - 4th level: May use the Shield of Shadows ability once per day. SHIELD OF SHADOWS: The shadow adept surrounds <HIMHER>self with a barrier of purpleblack force. This shield of shadows functions like a shield spell, setting <HISHER> armor class to 4 (2 against ranged weapons) and absorbing magic missiles cast at him for 1 hour per 2 levels to a maximum of 9 hours. From 8th level onwards, the shield of shadows also grants +4 to saving throws vs. death and +1 to all other saving throws. - 5th level: May use Shadowstep once per day. Gains one use every 5 levels thereafter. SHADOWSTEP: Step into the Shadow Plane and move for 7 seconds while others are frozen in time. The shadow adept cannot attack or use spells while in the Shadow Plane. - 14th level: May use the Shadow Double ability once per day. SHADOW DOUBLE: The shadow adept creates a copy of himself out of shadowstuff. The copy is at 60% of the caster's level and has all the spells and abilities that the caster would have at that level. Disadvantages: - -2 penalty to saving throws against spells of the Invocation and Alteration schools. - May not learn or use spells from the Weave. - Alignment restricted to non-good. This mod is still unstable and has a few known issues:
  • One level 9 spell has a side effect that requires party AI to active to take effect, as it depends on the dplayer3.bcs script. Once you've met the prerequisites (you'll understand once you see the spell) simply turn on scripts for the effect to kick in and then turn it off if you wish.
  • Shadow Adept multi-classes will not gain Shadow Adept high level abilities.
  • A couple spells are a bit glitchy here and there. Bug reports are welcomed.

Component 2: SHADOW MONK

SHADOW MONK: Little is known about the secretive order of shadow monks, other than the fact that they draw upon the power of the Shadow Plane to wield dark ki. They are masterful assassins, manipulating powerful illusions to their advantage and skilled at striking from the shadows, but their ritualistic training has taken a toll on their physical stamina. Advantages: - +1 bonus to Dexterity. - Gains the Darkvision innate ability. DARKVISION: The shadow monk is gifted with the ability to see in the dark even better than in light. <PRO_HESHE> permanently gains infravision and immunity to blindness. - Gains the Life-Drain innate ability. LIFE-DRAIN: Shadow monks channel the power of the Shadow Plane into their fists, gaining bonus effects based off of their level. 1st - 9th level: Drains 1 hit point on hit. 10th - 19th level: Drains 2 hit points and lowers target's strength by 1 for 2 rounds (save vs. death to avoid strength drain) 20th level onwards: Drains 3 hit points, lowers target's strength by 1 and 20% chance to drain one level permanently on hit - Has a backstab multiplier of x2. Increases to x3 at 11th level and x4 at 21st level. - 3rd level: May use the Shadow Pool ability. SHADOW POOL: Shadow monks wield the power of the Shadow Plane and can manipulate it in order to cast a limited amount of Shadow Magic. The shadow monk must first spend one round drawing energy from the Shadow Weave then cast the spell. The shadow monk's concentration may be disrupted during the channeling or the casting time. Level 1 (3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th levels): Shadow Missile, Blinding Darkness, Shadow Veil, Decoy Level 2 (7th, 10th, 13th, 16th levels): Dark Mirage, Black Mist, Ghostly Visage, Shadow Walk Level 3 (11th, 17th, 23rd levels): Shadowblast, Lifedrinker Touch, Shadow Comets, Impose Level 4 (15th, 21st, 27th levels): Fireshield (Shadow), Shadeskin, Summon Shadow, Shar's Blessing - 5th level: May cast Shadowstep once per day. Gains an additional use every 5 levels thereafter. SHADOWSTEP: Step into the Shadow Plane and move for 7 seconds while others are frozen in time. The shadow monk cannot attack or use spells while in the Shadow Plane. - 12th level: May cast Shadow Door once per day. Gains additional uses at 16th and 20th level. - 15th level: May use the Deathstrike ability once per day. DEATHSTRIKE: The shadow monk teleports to a chosen target and turns invisible for one round. <PRO_HISHER> next attack within one round is a guaranteed critical hit and drains six levels from the target. Disadvantages: - Hit Die: d6 - -2 penalty to Strength. - -4 penalty to Constitution. - Alignment restricted to non-lawful and non-good. - Uses the shadowdancer's high level abilities table instead of the fighter's, with the exclusion of Use Any Item. - May not use the Lay On Hands ability. - May not use the Stunning Blow ability. - May not use the Quivering Palm ability.

Component 3: ITEM PACK

This optional component adds a few relatively powerful items that are exclusive to the shadow adept. Some can be found in BG1+SoD and all can be found in BG2. Some items require the shadow adept to have a secondary class in addition to the kit itself. More items are being added as the mod is updated.

Component 4: NPC REACTIONS

This optional component is intended to give extra dialogue with party members regarding the PC's use of shadow magic. Currently the only reaction that has been added is a single dialogue with Edwin.

Component 5: FAMILIARS

This optional component provides the shadow adept the ability to summon a familiar at 6th level. The shadow adept's familiar has a few differences in strength and function compared to a mage's familiar but mostly imitates vanilla familiar behavior.

These are work in progress releases, so you may still find a bug or two, especially in the new features. You might want to browse this thread for more information or visit the download page once in a while to see if updated versions are available. Alternatively you can visit the main branch of NearInfinity, however it is updated much less often.

@AstroBryGuy is providing Mac OS X specific app packages of the latest Near Infinity snapshots. It provides a better integration into the system, such as adding a Dock icon or using the system menubar.

Note: NearInfinity requires Java 8 or higher. It has been tested mostly on Windows systems, but it should work reliably on any system supported by Java.

So is there any Bard NPC mods compatible with the latest version of the game out there?

If there is something I kind of realized, the game is severely lacking in Bards compared to the first game in the series (Hell, SoD even got "Voghlin", a Skald). Sure, there's Haer'Dalis but as a Blade he offers a different type of bard-based support than what I was kind of hoping for, and to be honest I don't like the idea of making my own character a bard (I want stories to be written about me, not writing about myself, know what I mean?)

So is there any out there? Or do I just cave in and make one myself and have him/her take a character slot?

Enhanced Edition Trilogy Bug Report

Throughout my journey with this mod, I've run into no bugs until BG2 (congrats, very well made Beta) but when I got to BG2 a conversation triggered between Minsc and Imoen that is supposed to take place in Chapter 4 of BG2. I know this because while I forgot to take a screenshot (sorry) Minsc mentions Bodhi whom the party has obviously not quite met yet.

I will keep this thread open in case I have to make more reports, but I am so happy that this mod was created.

I've finally uploaded the mod on the official site: http://www.pocketplane.net/iwdnpc , and the mod now features correct, IWD:EE-sized portraits.

The readme should have all the necessary information:

But let me tell you what to expect, just in case:

- five companions, three male, two female;
- alternate classes available to pick a more balanced party(check the readme);
- two male and two female romances for human, elven and half-elven protagonists;
- lots of banter in every area, including interparty banter and dialogues with the protagonist;
- player-initiated dialogue(and plenty of it for romance interests - 15 extra conversations for each romance interest, if I remember correctly);
- interjections in IWD, HoW and TotL;
- I recommend to visit HoW after Chapter 3 or Chapter 4, but feel free to pick your own pace.

[MOD] Skip Chateau Irenicus

I've noticed that Dungeon-Be-Gone is becoming more and more popular for veteran players who played this game more than just a couple of times. So I have decided to create an alternate (and less silly) version of it for BG2:EE and EET.

This mod is unrelated to Dungeon-Be-Gone except for the fact that it also allows you to skip Chateau Irenicus. In addition it makes use of several EE-specific features, so that you won't lose any vanilla or mod-added items available in that dungeon.

Overview

Are you tired of running through the whole initial dungeon over and over? Not anymore!

This mod allows you skip all the boring details of Chateau Irenicus. You can even collect all the items normally found within the dungeon. Just inspect the rubble of the destroyed building on Waukeen's Promenade. As a bonus you will also gain some experience and may find a bit of pocket change.

"Skip Chateau Irenicus" (or SCI) is meant as an alternative to the (in)famous Dungeon-Be-Gone mod which provides a similar option, but in a way that seriously breaks the fourth wall.

This mod requires BG2:EE patched to v2.0 or higher, or EET (Enhanced Edition Trilogy).


Installation

This is a WeiDU mod, that means it is very easy to install. Simply unpack the downloaded archive into your game directory and run "setup-SkipChateauIrenicus.exe". Follow the instructions and you are ready to start. You must start a new SoA game to see any effect.

Important: The game must be patched to v2.0 or higher to install this mod.


Components

Main component: Skip Chateau Irenicus

The component triggers moments after you are released from your cell. A rogue appears and opens up the opportunity to use the magical portals to leave the dungeon. Each portal will transport you to the other level of the dungeon or directly to the surface. Afterwards the way back is blocked like in the unmodified game. To loot the items from the dungeon inspect the rubble of the destroyed building on Waukeen's Promenade.

The item description of the dryads' acorns have been slightly altered to give you some information what you can do with it.

Note: There may be a general slowdown of the game for a few seconds after the initial cutscene on Waukeen's Promenade which is caused by the item transference process.


Optional component: Deal with skipped NPCs

This component allows you to recruit NPCs which might have been missed because you skipped the dungeon. It comes in two flavors:

1. Vanilla NPCs only
This option deals only with the vanilla NPCs Jaheira, Minsc and Yoshimo. They can be found at their designated locations as if you dismissed them from the party.

2. All available NPCs
This option deals with every supported vanilla and mod NPC. In addition to the vanilla NPCs it adds code for Adrian Sianodel (by Rhaella), Chloe (by Lucythebeast) as well as Yasraena (by Sillara). They can either be found directly near the destroyed building at Waukeen's Promenade or at their designated waiting locations as if you dismissed them from the party.
Other mod NPCs that can be encountered in Chateau Irenicus may be supported by their respective authors. In this case they will be handled by this mod component as well. This mod provides an easy mechanism to make it possible. You can read more about it in the following chapters.


Compatibility

This mod skips an important part of the SoA main story. Although items will be transferred to the surface you may still miss certain mod-added content, such as quests, journal entries or NPCs. The mod provides a feature to deal with skipped NPCs, but only code for the vanilla NPCs Minsc, Jaheira and Yoshimo are included in this mod. Modders can use this feature to add their own code though. More information can be found in the next chapter.The mod is designed so that you can transport back and forth between the two levels of Chateau Irenicus until you decide to teleport to the surface. Afterwards the way is blocked forever, like in the unmodified game.


Information for modders

The mod is extensible regarding how containers and items are transferred after returning to the surface. The subfolder "tables" of this mod is scanned for 2DA files which will be processed based on their content. Mods which provide items for Chateau Irenicus can simply put their own 2DA files into the folder, so that it will be taken care by this mod later on. Only items that can be acquired by special means (such as quest rewards or by scripted actions) have to be handled by this method. Items from containers are transferred automatically.

Each 2DA file may contain information whether to exclude specific containers from the item transference process, how to handle items acquired by scripted actions and what to do with unique or dungeon-specific items. You can find a more detailed description with example code in "SkipChateauIrenicus/tables/desc.txt".

The mod also provides an "addon" feature which can be used to deal with mod-added NPCs that can be found in Chateau Irenicus, but are skipped because of this mod. For that reason a modder can place a WeiDU script file with .tpa or .tph extension into the "npc" subfolder of this mod. A small number of predefined variables can be used to interact with this mod. You can find a more detailed description with example code in "SkipChateauIrenicus/npc/desc.txt".
