Introduction

Sirene is a tiefling paladin of Ilmater, the Crying God, patron of endurance and martyrdom. While she is still new to her responsibilities and uncertain of herself, she is a loyal follower of her faith and devoted the protection of the innocent. At the same time, the stigma of her infernal heritage has made her a lonely and withdrawn individual who desperately seeks the comfort of friendship and trust. She can be found and recruited outside of the Song of the Morning Temple by a PC of non-evil alignment at level 2 with a minimum of 2500 experience, though she will gain experience to match the PC at the moment of recruitment. In Siege of Dragonspear, she can be found in the Iron Throne building. Race: Tiefling Class: Martyr (Paladin) Alignment: Lawful Good Strength: 15 Dexterity: 17 Constitution: 15 Intelligence: 10 Wisdom: 13 Charisma: 17

[mod] Innershade

Follow a path between the trees to find a very new village to visit: the village of Innershade. It's been having some problems lately: some people disappeared, and the attacker was never seen. You must stop the guilty party, if you can. Solving the problem may be not enough; getting rid of the attacker is only one of the ways to handle this. The second is understanding the motives and past that became a great burden. In the end, you may have to become a judge of sorts. In the village, you will also find some minor problems, and even a little affair. Meet Eva, a female blacksmith with a really explosive character. Listen to Li'l Bud's tales about heroes and villains. If you are a bard, maybe you will learn a new skill from a not-too-kind minstrel. Don't forget to visit Granny Bunny, a really nice and kind elderly lady, who will tell you some stories from her past. What else can she offer? Hot tea with some jam, homemade biscuits, and a warm smile. Colours of Infinity download section

It provides a better integration into the system, such as adding a Dock icon or using the system menubar. Note: NearInfinity requires Java 8 or higher. It has been tested mostly on Windows systems, but it should work reliably on any system supported by Java. Feel free to test it, especially the new features, and post your comments, bug reports or suggestions either here or in this thread.

NearInfinity and dialog.tlk - did I mess things up?

Ahoy!
I edited a weapon's description in Baldur's Gate EET via NearInfinity and forgot to backup dialog.tlk although I was reminded.
I did not add anything, just changed two numbers to make the description fit its weapon's stats. I wasn't aware that the complete dialog.tlk would be changed / rebuild / recompiled whatever.
After having done this I read here in this Forum that dialog.tlk should not be edited via NearInfinity. I didn't edit it directly but via the identified item's description. So did I mess up the dialog.tlk or even the whole installation?
Would be nasty to run into a plotstopper in a few months because of my mistake.
The modification itself worked and so far there have been no errors.
Also: How do I know that there is an error in these regards? Wrong dialogue for some situations or crash to desktop?
I would be happy for any helpful thoughts on this matter.
Thanks in advance

EET Install and Portraits

Hello,
I recently decided to do another playthrough of an fresh EET Installation. The Game is running so far but missing some of the Portraits I installed.
Where does an EET Install store its Portraits? Because the regular Portrait Folder in \Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition Trilogy\Portraits is empty, so are the Portraits Folder in the regular Game Folders. Is there a Folder i'm missing? And can i add Portraits to an finished EET Installation?

I included my WeiDU log in this Post. If there is a similar Topic already, please merge this Post with it.

Thanks in advance

/edit to specify: The Game does not pull the Isandir Potraits Pack for the Character Creation for some reason. The Mod itself is there, so are all the .bmp files.

How to install custom soundsets the easy way; custom soundsets included. Now with subtitles!

I've been searching the forums on how to use custom soundsets, and the only way I've seen is the DLTCEP method brought up in this tutorial: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/17259/tutorial-how-to-use-dltcep-to-enable-custom-soundsets#latest. While I'm sure that works, I did notice that a couple of the old soundsets made for Icewind Dale II work by just dropping the wav files in the proper sound folder, so I figured there had to be a simple drag-and-drop solution to all this. Also, I didn't want to start a new game for the new soundsets to work. Well, by fooling around with it I found a way, described in the steps below! First, you need to get a soundset. The amount of sounds needed for a complete soundset in IWDEE is at least 25. You can have less, but I'd imagine that your characters would be silent for certain activities. The sound files have to be in a wav format. The wav files in the set need to be labeled by ending the name of the file with a Hashtag (#), an Underscore ( _ ), or by a letter: "a" through "m", and "s" through "y". The specific characters signify the state the player is in (e.g., "c" stands for the "Tired" state). When naming the file, the appropriate character should be used at the end of the filename. For example, if the soundset was named "Jeff", the "Tired" sound file for that soundset - played when Jeff is fatigued - should be named "Jeffc.wav". The letters in the file may or may not need to be lowercase to work in-game...the default files in the "sounds" folder are all lowercased but I don't know if that would honestly make a difference. There are also some sound files labeled by the numbers "0", "8", and "9". These files signify a Confirmation, a Battle Cry, and a second Battle Cry, respectively. Definition of characters: Underscore ( _ ): Rare Party Member Selection 1 Hashtag (#): Rare Party Member Selection 2 a: Battle Cry 1 b: Becoming Leader c: Tired d: Bored e: Need to be Healed f: Selected Party Member 1 g: Selected Party Member 2 h: Selected Party Member 3 i: Confirmation 1 j: Confirmation 2 k: Confirmation 3 l: Taking Damage m: Dying s: Action Confirm 1 t: Action Confirm 2 u: Action Confirm 3 v: Action Confirm 4 w: Reaction to Dead Party Member x: Annoyed Selection 1 y: Annoyed Selection 2 0: Confirmation 4 8: Battle Cry 2 9: Battle Cry 3 If you want to test the sound clips that are already in the game, just know that not all the default sound clips shipped with the game work properly in media players. For some reason some of the sound clips will only run properly in-game. For instance, a lot of the "Taking Damage" sound files only play in-game. They usually don't run in Windows Media player, and when I try other media programs like VLC player or K-Lite's Media Player Classic, the sound clip is slowed down or warped. I've attached a soundset I've just finished working on as an example. The soundset is the "Dark Brooding Hero" set from Neverwinter Nights, which was submitted to Sorcerer's Place (http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD2/index_soundsets.php) by Kenneth Van Coppenolle a long time ago. I just downloaded it and changed the naming convention so it would run in IWDEE. It's not the best soundset, as if you've ever played NWN and used Dark Brooding Hero, you know it's not the most...well-rounded (lots of screaming and war cries). But if you're making a gruff fighter with anger issues, it's nearly perfect! I did use some of the same clips a couple of times in different situations to try to balance it out, which lead to a comedic effect in some cases! Like all soundsets, just extract all the wav files into your lang/en_US/sounds folder (change "en_US" if you're using a different language) found in your Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition main directory. Don't just drop the "Dark Brooding Hero" folder in there; take out all the wav files in the rar and place them in the "sounds" folder. After that, just launch the game, go into your character's record sheet, choose "Customize", then "Sounds", and the soundset will be labeled "DBH". EDIT: The new attached rar file features multiple soundsets, five in total, with working subtitles: Archetypal Male Rogue, Dark Brooding Hero, Male Assimar, Bodhi from Baldur's Gate II and Imoen from the Baldur's Gate series. To use the subtitle feature, drop the dialog.tlk file in your "en_US" folder (make sure to backup the dialog.tlk file that is already there) and drop the CHARSND.2da file in your "override" folder. If you don't want to use the subtitles for some reason, you can just drop all the wav files into your sound folder per usual and leave the dialog.tlk and CHARSND.2da files in the rar. Also, just to note, I did not create the actual wav files that comprise the soundsets; I merely downloaded them from various sites and edited them using the steps above to get them running with Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition. Good places to download soundsets and other mods are the game hub at Sorcerer's Place (http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/index.php), the forums at Baldur's Gate Mods (http://www.baldursgatemods.com/forums/index.php), Pocket Plane Group (http://www.pocketplane.net/mambo/), and of course, The Gibberlings Three forums (http://forums.gibberlings3.net/). I've also gone to the Spellhold Studios website for modded content in the past, but that site seems to not be working for me as of this typing. UPDATE (Jan. 27, 2016): I decided to delete the "Soundsets with Subtitles" rar file previously uploaded on this post as creating soundsets listed on this thread is no longer the easiest way to make them. I'd also disregard any of the old posts I made that have rars and zip files attached, as those soundsets are done in the old way and I've probably updated most of them by now. Instead, I would wholeheartedly suggest using the Awesome Soundsets Mod by smeagolheart, which can be found on this thread: https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/38319/mods-awesome-soundsets-mods-master-thread-custom-soundsets-for-bgee-bg2ee-and-iwdee/p1. This mod shell is so far the best way I've personally added soundsets to the Infinity Engine games, and I'd recommend anyone who likes to play with custom sound files to try it out! I'll leave this post up for reference; however, the Awesome Soundset Mod comes with a more detailed list of sound definitions for both Icewind Dale and the Baldur's Gate games. I've also created a continually updated mod using the shell, Swifty Magee's Soundsets, which can be found on this thread as well as the Awesome Soundsets Mod thread, and any updates will be listed there. Here's a Dropbox link to v1.5, but remember, check smeagolheart's thread for future updates: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ibnv7c55x6zwmb1/Swifty%20Magee%27s%20Soundsets%20v1.5.zip?dl=0

Enable Dual-classing into Kits (now with Proficiency Fix)

$
0
0
Dual-class into Kit Installation Order: * This mod should NOT be installed BEFORE any mod that adds new kits. * This mod should NOT be installed BEFORE any mod that alters race(MGSRCREQ.2da/CLSRCREQ.2da) or dualclass(DUALCLAS.2da/ABDCDSRQ.2da) restrictions. * This mod should NOT be installed BEFORE any mod that alters string references in CLASTEXT.2da, KITLIST.2da, or RACETEXT.2da/SODRACE.2da. * This mod should NOT be installed BEFORE any mod that alters alignment(ALIGNMNT.2da) restrictions. * The third component(proficiency) should also NOT be installed BEFORE any mod that alters or reads (WEAPPROF.2da). Limitations(primary component): * Class/Kit description in the record screen will display the description of the unkitted second class. * Specialists Mages will not recieve their bonus spell slots. (Fix included in second component.) * Level-up proficiency selection is still dictated as if an unkitted second class. (Potential fix included in thrid component.) (These are all the same issues that occur when you manually change the second-class kit through EEkeeper/Near Infinity) Limitations(proficiency component) * This component is still experimental, I would urge you to save being clicking "Level-up".
* All (kit or not) dual-classed character's proficiency options will be strictly enforced. Reactivating their original class will not expand their proficiency limitations, they still regain any proficiency that had from that class, they just cannot add to them beyond what their second class normally allows. * Level requirements for proficiency will continue to follow PROFSMAX.2da. * Mods that replace a Base class with a kit, should utilize the mods base-class kit proficiency options for the unkitted class, provided the kit and class share the same name. Any character with the base-class kit will use that kits proficiency options as expected. * Mods that add a Multi-class kit and Single-class kit under the same name will attempt to differientiate them by their kit description. If it fails they might end up using the others proficiency options. * If it fails to identify class/kit, it should default to FIGHTER or NONE proficiency options, to avoid being stuck during level. This should only happen if their current kit(or trueclass) has been disabled / made invalid by other mods.
Compatibility: * v2.3+: BGEE, BGSOD, BG2EE * v2.5+: IWDEE * Should work for any language. Only installation prompts are in English. * Supports multiple campaign files, as read from CAMPAIGN.2da. * The entire Chargen Class Selection portion of UI.menu is replaced, if I knew better how to make the changes I would. * The Chargen Mage Spell Selection portion has a very minor edit, small chance of conflict with other UI mods. * The Proficiency component attempts to alter several parts of the Chargen/Levelup Proficiency portion of UI.menu, relatively high chance of conflict with other UI mods that alter that section.

Northern Tales of the Sword Coast (NTotSC) for BG:EE (and BGT and EET) - Download

NTotSC for BGT, BG:EE, and EET Northern Tales of the Sword Coast (NTotSC) adds several quests to the BG1 part (with TotSC) to the game. Some are minor encounters with no further impact, but some are larger quests that are also partly connected to each other. This is a BGT, BG:EE, and EET version of the original mod. As of version 2.0, NTotSC is no longer dependent on DSotSC. If you want to play the two mods together, install DSotSC first. The versions supported are: -for BGT/EET: version by k4thos -for BG:EE: version by Red Carnelian (this mod is still beta, too). To reach the new areas via worldmap, you need to install BP-BGT-worldmap for BGT after NTotSC and start a new game. For BG:EE, this is no longer needed, thank you to AstroBryGuy for providing the worldmap tweak! Since v2.0, the quests are less restrictive in their order, especially in the order of when to talk to whom, in the sense of no dead ends because a quest character was talked to too early. The only restrictions remaining are: The Northern Citadel Quest will be handed out from Duke Eltan when he summons the PC in the original game. The Temple of the Black Hand will only be revealed after the demon in Ulgoth's Beard is defeated. All other quests can either be "walked into", received from multiple persons (e.g. "The Field of the Dead"), or received by killing the quest giver instead of going on his fedex quest (e.g. the Ice Slamander or Eldod - they will have the appropriate keys on them.) Also, the mod now uses the prefix "NT". The package comes with a detailed list of Changes including altered variable names. If your mod has crossmod content with NTotSC and you are nervous about the changes, let me know and I will help you concerning compatibility with v2.1.0. Test reports welcome! I tested myself on all platforms but there is always something one pair of eyes will miss. Visit the Forum Read the Readme Official download at SHS Official NTotSC GitHub Mirror

Making Kivan an archer

I seem to remember a mod that does this but have not been able to find it. I finally have my game modded in a way that seems to work, other than Kivan still being a Ranger. If I manually change his class to an archer using EE Keeper after he joins my party, will that cause major problems?

Thanks!

Android Mod Request?

Hi everyone. I've seen threads about android mods on BG games and I want to request some mods to use on my saves (mainly for BG2 EE though). I have the last public patch for the game, so hopefully it's possible to port the mods I would like to see on android. Many thanks to the person who would like to help me out on this. The mods I would love to see are... Unfinished Business for BG2EE - All components if possible. Romance Encounters BG2 (G3) - I tried this mod before when I ported it but the dialogue didn't seem to work (probably from something I did wrong) so I'd like to have all the components of the mod. Quest Pack - All components Tweaks Anthology - All components BG2 Unofficial Items - All components Crossmod Banter Pack (G3) - EVERYTHING except for romantic conflicts (hopefully it doesn't conflicts with Romance Encounters) Also, if possible, can someone unlock all locations or at least clear the black stuff to make exploration easier? I hate wandering around the locations sometimes bc of how repetitive this gets. Thanks again to whoever does this for me. I would really appreciate it since I loved playing with mods on the PC version until it stopped working :(

Greetings!
Upon installing I liked the idea of a more realistic behavior of wolves and bears by not being immediately aggressive. After having played for a while I find it annoying. Is there a way to edit this part of the mod so that it is deacticated?
Thank you!

Congenio's Pebble Collection
New Component: "Congenio's Pebble Collection" - Allows multiple Ioun stones to stack without using any equipment slots, as per PnP. Ioun stones can still be worn as helmets, and if used in the equipment tab, will "float" around you giving you the benefits of the stone and a free helmet slot. Simply use an innate ability to reach out and grab the Ioun stone you wish to remove from orbit. This can be quite powerful by ToB.
Wong Fei's Ioun Stone now also has same usability as all other Ioun stones, excluding Malla's Soul Stone, which still excludes Good-Aligned users.

6wmvr4zh8sox.png

WARNING: Ioun stones that use Opcode "Stat: Maximum HP Modifier [18]" work differently than others. In order for the HP modifier to be removed when the Ioun stone is, the HP modifier cannot be saved and loaded. In other words, if you save with the Pale Green Ioun Stone and/or Wong Fei's Ioun Stone equipped in orbit, you must equip them again upon loading to receive the HP modifier.

Change Log:
[Upcoming] - Kits: Collector, Elven Minstrel, Huntsman, Infiltrator, Spellfincher, and Faiths & Powers-compatible "Clergy of the Seldarine."

[v1.68] - Further improved Bladesongs! Bladesingers are meant to stick to robes/elven chain and single weapon style, but as a fighter/mage kit, they were able to perform their powerful bladesongs in cumbersome full plate and heavy tower shields. No more! Bladesongs are now properly limited to Bladesingers in armor no heavier than chain mail so long as they are wielding a single one-handed melee weapon and have one free hand. Splint/Plate, ranged weapons, 2H-weapons, shields, and even hand-to-hand combat will disable bladesinging, removing its effects and preventing its reapplication until proper weapon/armor requirements are met. Courtesy of @subtledoctor.
- Revised abilities for Herbalists & Priests of Mystra, improving balance as well as kit usefulness.
- A few components shifted groups (but not component numbers) to maintain a minimum number of component groups.
- Bug Fixes: Multiple strref fixes, including War Wizard's innate ability descriptions.
Removed all instances of 'sod' under REQUIRE_PREDICATE GAME_IS, due to the fact that IWDEE does not yet recognize that game.
Fixed multiple Ioun stones for IWDEE. Also replaced 2 SoD Ioun .BAMs with closest matching images from compatible games.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3oh7euE-ND2S3hCRXNHeHRqQm8

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3oh7euE-ND2SWNuV21pdUZOSEk

[v1.65] - Bug Fixes: Resolved issue with Priestesses of Lolth being unable to talk after shapeshifting out of spider form.

[v1.11] - Removed 25STWEAP.2da made unnecessary with patch v2.1.
- Disabled Alpha components for IWD2 & PS:T.
- Slight changes to custom races. Tiefling should work in BGEE, SoD, and BG2EE. Vampire should appear in BG2EE, but has no selectable classes. Removed changes to IWDEE racetext.2da.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3oh7euE-ND2Y0FUSXFUWVhoRnc

[v1.1] - Bug Fixes: Abyssal Warrior's level 1 free weapon now created in inventory.
- Changes: Windrider's mount only usable outdoors. Now has no casting time like other non-magical innates.
- Other: XP Cap Removal added to HLA component. Tiefling added as a playable race, essentially just an Elf with different string references. Only an Abyssal Warrior can be a true tiefling with all racial traits.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3oh7euE-ND2Z3MwUVlsaFMtRXM

[v1.0] - Kits: Abyssal Warrior, Bladesinger, Eldritch Knight, Herbalist, Priest of Mystra, Priestess of Lolth, Undead Hunter Paladin kit for Elves, War Wizard, Wilderness Runner, and Windrider.
