A Simple XP cap remover

$

I´ve posted my links in some threads, but I just thought it would be simpler for those looking for a XP Cap remover to make a new thread.

First the download links:

http://www.4shared.com/zip/ELKeZtFp/override.html
You'll need an account to download from 4shared

https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D907607_60_6722740606

Or just download the file attached to this post.

And now that I've given the download links, let's have some instructions and a word of warning.

XP Cap in BG:EE is controlled by three files:

XPCAP.2DA
STARTARE.2DA
STARTBP.2DA

Actually this had me scratching my head when I tried to make a simple XPCap remover as modifying XPCAP.2DA has always been enough. In BG:EE's case changing just the XPCAP.2DA did not remove the cap, so I went on looking for the cause.

STARTARE.2DA and STARTBP.2DA control the starting conditions of the main quest and Black Pits, respectively, controlling among other things your starting position, starting XP and XP Cap for that campaign, proving that the new EE engine is able to deal with multiple campaigns with their own individual limits.

The game has all the tables up to level 40 BUT there are no HLAs (High Level Abilities) present. That means that if somehow you reach a level where you'd normally get an HLA you have to hit ENTER on the character screen to skip that.

If you want to change the XP Cap to any other fixed value all you have to do is edit the 2DA files and change the -1 into whatever value you want. Actually you can also change the starting XP in the main quest and Black Pits as well. Just change START_XP from 0 to the value you want in both STARTARE.2DA and STARBP.2DA.

Notice you'll need a text editor to change the file, such as Editpad Lite. The game will not recognize the 2DA files if they're converted to Rich Text Files or Word Documents.

So you must be asking yourself how to make it work. It's very simple. Just copy the three files into your override folder. If you don't have one, create one in the same place the movies and scripts folders are located (usually bgee installation path/data/00766), In my computer, for instance, it would be placed in C:\Games\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data\00766

If you are a Steam user, the default override folder path would look something like this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\override

[Multi-Stronghold-Bard's Playhouse not triggering]

Hoping someone more code-savvy than myself may help me out here. (Or with better google-fu, for my own techniques proved inneficient against the websearches.)

So i recently purchased BG2 EE (aaah, so much nostalgia!) off steam. Despite the few bugs its been awesome so far, but ive just run into a slight snag with the BGTweaks Multiple Stronghold feature. As im not playing a bard, im including it here, instead of in the bugs mods.

So i just save [The NPC's hide] from [That place you get from the Five Flagons] and im not receiving the deed, and as such, Samuel Thunderbump doesnt trigger when i get back to the 5Flagons. Ive tried creating the deed through the console but no avail.

Anyone knows what console code to use to trigger the questlines/Get Samuel Thunderbump to show up and acknowledge my character and/or get R-S to give me the deed?

Many, many thanks, and 17.23 brownie points to whoever can solve my problem.

Is there a gender disengagement mod I can apply to blind the romancers? Turn one off the other on?

Hello I checked briefly at mods but perhaps not quite well enough for the BG2/TOB. I was looking for a mod that would allow a romance adjustment that is not dependent on gender. Specifically one for the Beamdog enhanced ones. I was hoping to turn one off and the other on- no pun intended....

Further I was wondering if this is also available on the Android version, which would maybe casue me to buy it even though I wrote I never would... But, playing at work on top of the roof is on my tablet is really tempting... any ideas on that?

Thanks

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition - Autoroller

FEATURES

This utility program will automaticly roll for attributes.
It stores the highest attribute score rolled.
If a new roll is equal to previously highest it compare the STR% and picks the highest.
Priority settings for STR%.

SUPPORTS

• BGEE - 'Single Player'
• BG2EE - 'Single Player'
'The Black Pits'

DOWNLOAD

Current version (v4) of the program is working with v1.2 of BGEE and BG2EE.
Updates to BGEE can break the program, it all depends on what kind of update it is.
Check below for new OFFSET values.

DOWNLOAD: http://www.mediafire.com/download/o1d11vxw9zd1zwa/BGEEautoroller_v4.zip
Here is the un-compiled ahk version of the program: Download AHK version

OFFSET VALUES
BGEE v1.2: 0x0064439C
BG2EE v1.2: 0x0064832C

OLD OFFSET VALUES
[spoiler]BGEE v1.0.2014: 0x00561734
BGEE v1.0.2012: 0x0055E6A4
BGEE v1.0.2011: 0x0055E6AC[/spoiler]

HOW TO USE

1. UPDATE the OFFSET value in the ini file, OFFSET = 0x________
2. Run Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition in windowed mode (IMPORTANT)
3. Run BGEE Autoroller (you might have to run it as administrator)
4. If creating a class with STR%, set priority settings as you want it (set all to 0 if you don't want to these features).
5. Press START when you have reached the attribute screen, you will be promted to press the RECALL, STORE and REROLL buttons.
6. Once you hit the REROLL button it will start rolling.

Hold down 'X' when you want to stop rolling.
'UP' will increase the rolling speed.
'DOWN' will decrease the rolling speed.

IMPORTANT
This will not work when creating multiple characters in Multiplayer & The Black Pit.
I recommend using the Pre-Generate Character (this tool works there) then use import for MP & TBP.
I currently have no solution on how to use this for MP & TBP, except generate your character in single player, export them and import to MP, TBP or TBP2

ABOUT THE STR% SETTINGS
Exceptional STR% worth:
This will add priority to STR% values. Giving the possibility to store a lower roll if it's STR% is good enough.
Example:
If your currently stored total is 90 with a STR% 20 then you roll a 89 with STR% 77 the new 89 roll will be stored if 76-90 is worth 1 or more attribute points.

Minimum STR% to store:
This will simply ignore ALL rolls with a STR% below the one set.
If you have it at 51 and would happen to roll 100 with a STR% score of 12 that roll will be ignored.

IF IT DOESN'T WORK

Most likely it's due to an BGEE update and I have tried to make it as easy as possible get it working again if thats the case.
To get it working again you need to update the OFFSET value in "BGEEautoroller.ini"
To do that:
1. First you need a new OFFSET value, I'll update this post with new ones.
2. Open the ini file in a text editor (like Notepad).
3. Change the OFFSET value to the new one.

If it's not due to an update then please post here.

DISCLAIMER

I take no responsibility at all for the use of this program. However if used properly nothing should happen as it only reads memory data.

IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO HELP GETTING NEW OFFSET VALUES
(Requires you to know how to search for memory addresses)

1. Find the memory address for the STR attribute (value type: byte)
2. Make a pointer scan for that address (max level 1 is enough)
3. You should find a pointer where Offset0 = 610
4. Look at the base address "baldur.exe"+________
5. New OFFSET = 0x________

any chance of a BG:EE 1/2 Persistent World multiplayer type setting similiar to what NwN is doing?

even via use of a saved game and a small number of players I think it would be fun to have a few players at odds with each other.

would something like this be moddable...and the playercap increased?

Question regarding XP Cap Remover in BG EE and Exporting to BG2 EE

$

Hello all, I was reading through some of the topics regarding xp cap removers and found man silmilar questions but not exactly what i needed to know. I am currently playing a fighter/thief on BG EE. I was playing the game as a loner (no party) and doing more exploring than i have ever done in any playthrough, and hit the xp cap before cloakwood. I still have quite a bit of exploring i want to do and i havent even gotten to baldurs gate yet, but now that my xp is capped a large part of me just wants to rush the rest of the game and get to BG 2 ee, but im fighting it.

So the main thing I'm wondering is if I got an xp cap remover, and leveled up past the vanilla supported levels, then imported to bg 2, would my character in the long run be weaker for it? would i miss out on lvl up bonuses? do i need a high level abilities mod also? do those abilities carry over with import? Just a knowledgeable run down on xp cap removers in relation to importing between games would be nice. thank you

Trouble with WeiDu and file path

So I've been learning to mod but using various tools but haven't figured out how to work weidu yet. I put in --game C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\ but it says the command word "files" is wrong. I tried putting it in quotes but it closed out before I could read the error.

After that stumbling block I still haven't figured out how to install a mod I make with it. Its a big headache for one little kit mod I'm making for a friend. I could probably hard code in whats left, but that would make it hard to distribute.

Help for a novice modder

Hail and well met. I'm looking for a bit of help on some customization I'm doing to the game for a friend of mine. Basically I've created an innate shapeshifting ability for him so his barbarian can turn into a bear. I've figured out how to grant an innate ability on shift and how to remove it (so that shifting back and forth works properly).

What I can't figure out though is how to clear a memorized instance of an innate ability. What I want to do is give an ability only usable while he is in bear form. I can grant it as an innate ability when he shifts into a bear, but the problem is, even if I set it to be removed when he shifts back into natural form, the memorization is not removed. Meaning he can then use it in human form, and just as bad if he keeps shifting back and forth w/out using it up it stacks memorizations.

Does anyone know how I can force the memorization to be cleared on the shift back to natural form, or an alternative approach to granting the ability only while in bear form. I can post my files if anyone is interested. Thanks.

Game ends on party death

Me and my 2 friends are playing heavily tweaked, SCS included BG2. The difficulty is significant, so it happens that our protagonist bites the dust. This is getting increasingly frustrating, since more than often we have means to win the rest of the fight and ressurect him thereafter. Instead we need to go for immersion breaking reload.

Therefor I am looking for a mod, which would trigger game over on party death, instead of just protagonist death (just as in Black Pits 2). It would be also cool, if the mod is compatability friendly. Any hints?

which mods and install order to try for bg:eev1.2?

Here is my list to try -not sure of install order; anyone with experience using this list?
Bgeeclassic movies, lighting_pack-v1.0, neera_v1.1, BPSeries_v03121, spcollection_v10, cosmetic revisions, bg2_tweaks-v14,
and stratagems-v28 ; this is a lot of mods to install anyone use them and can recommend install order?

are there any you would not recommend for bgee such as bg2_tweaks- and why?
thanks - also would like to install banter packs, npc project etc when they are compatible. If you think i missed something essential make a recommendation.

Tales of the Deep Gardens: Amber colour?

@LavaDelVortel: I'm trying to finish the Tales of the Deep Gardens mod. I have now got all the other colours, including black, but there seems to be no way to get the last, the amber one. I have found an online tip that says "Amber - The last talk with Touch after finding the Black Colour". When I try to talk with "Touch", which I take to mean Gentle Touch, there is no dialogue, only a voice saying "Come, sit here with me". Temper Touch says she is not allowed to speak with me, because of the choice I made.

So, what to do?

I must say that the fights with the Yellow man and the Black wizard were, to say the least, difficult for me. My group is around lvl 10-11, and the Black wizard summoned a pit fiend! D'oh! Way over the top for me! But I managed to get him down, eventually.

[Release] Difficulty and Tweak mod ver 7

UPDATE - updated the mod to Ver7, the only change is added BG2EE compatibility.

This is a mod that allows you to change item stacking, enemies HPs, AC, Saves and Thac0 plus some other tweaks. It allows you to set how much you want to change it. Please read the readme before installing, it will work with any IE game, including BGEE, since it's Weidu mod it will work with any version, including future patches.

I did not have a chance to test it that much with BGEE, so if you think some enemy is not modified, or some neutral creature is please let me know.

Readme: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xsv1adty58gkvry/readme-DiffTweak.html

Can you play BG as a monster?

Do any mods allow you to play as a monster? A beholder f/t/m, for instance, who's able to hold things and wear armor for no reason?

NPC mods and kit questions

So I know people are generally allergic to paired NPCs, but I was researching knightly orders maybe a year and a half ago, and discovered that paladins of Milil often traveled with bards (to make ballads about their exploits--now we know where Anomen really belonged), and it was too amusing a prospect to pass up.

So kit questions:

1) When it comes to the bard, this is a place where I would consider skald. The warrior-poet and powerful buffer makes sense when your social circle is paladins. But the Viking flavor of the skald just makes no sense. They're Cormyrian, which is pretty much the equivalent of France. Nothing northern about them.

I'm leaning towards custom kit, and right now I've given her one which basically gives her an extra spell per level and restricts her from the school of necromancy. (Also +2 on saves vs. spell and half the pickpocket score.) The flavor of it is taken from the 2e Minstrel bard kit, which is a bit music+magic and probably makes sense for a Mililan bard. Would that be more or less attractive than a skald? Would it be completely unbalanced to give her that extra spell per level AND some minor improvements to the song?

2) I've been toying with the idea of adding an optional Priest of Milil kit for a PC. If I did this, I'd give the choice of the Temple of Lathander and the Five Flagons as stronghold, since he is the god of bards, after all. Is this something people would be interested in?

Turn Undead 2DA file?

I kept noticing that my cleric can turn all the undead except the skeleton warriors (I'm level 25, so I'm way above the required level for skeleton warriors which is 16)

I went to NearInfinity to edit but I can't locate the 2da file for turning undeads...can anyone point me in the right direction? And is anyone else having this same problem?

Divine Remix - Any updates?

Hello, modders! I have a quick question about the Divine Remix mod. Are there any plans currently to recreate this mod for BG:EE (now that BG2:EE has been confirmed)? It's one of my all-time favorites, since I love getting as close as possible to P&P for these games, so I'm hoping the author is looking into it, but I haven't heard any updates in months.

Multiclass - How do I go about it?

So I'm look to multiclass a few things that you can't currently do. E.g. Kensai/Swashbuckler or multiclass a barbarian/kensai/swashbuckler. How would I go about this?
